"because, because, because" by Manas Ganguly

Here's a poem by a pure artists - music, writing, theatre - you name it and he has it under his cap. An MA in English Literature, Manas has a special talent for writing poetry within minutes. Bet he thinks abut words even in his sleep. Love poetry has always touched our hearts - be it romantic or self. It is soulful, emotion proving, and driving us back to our sweetest memories in a whiff. Come, let's do it all over again.

"because, because, because"

I felt the hand upon my cheek. The sound it made felt like applause. I asked, "but why" and all I got was, "because, because, because." The silence, it might have deafened me. I was a child, there was no cause. I begged and screamed only to hear "because, because, because." The book was torn off of my hands education for me, had many a clause. I was told I couldn't make it too far, "because, because, because." The love came to me in landslides, it came one day, and for days did pause. Why didn't I deserve this consistently? "because, because, because." I learnt to love with maw agape and whimpered with the blood on my jaws. I learnt to love as animals do "because, because, because." And yet here I am, each step, each day, I choose to bend, and mend, these flaws. I shan't be a product of a refusal to grow because, because, because.
