The case study 'It's Just a Little Blood' required the practice of ethnography as a research medium. The project was focused on highlighting the workplace stigma around menstruation. We at Inde believed it to be an important issue that needs more eyes, ears and voices. It can be confidently said that every working woman in India has been prey to such stigmas and painful endurance of statements that let them to keep their heads down and allow the continuance of these nuisances. Since most Industry leaders are men, it has become a common notion to belittle period problems and make women work equally even when their bodies are behaving differently. A lot of power game, politics, unawareness, stigma, and taboo goes in the making of such a biased and backward societal structure. As a fact, ancient India was much advance to the treatment of women during periods than we are now. Shouldn't we adopt or continue the old practices that are more beneficial for the people of today?
"Through these illustrations I wanted to visualise the relationship between a woman and period products. When we see ads or packaging for period products, the visualisation of blood is usually blue (which is humanly impossible). These illustrations are an attempt to generalise period products and blood but with a hint of humour."
